The Descent is a 2005 UK hooror film, written and directed by Neil Marshall, and starring Shauna Macdonald, Natalie Mendoza, Alex Reid, Saskia Mulder, MyAnna Buring, and Nora-Jane Noone. It depicts the story of six women who, having entered an unmapped cave system, become trapped, and are hunted by subterranean flesh-eating humanoids (called Crawlers by the production). The film has received critical acclaim, and is considered as one of the best horror films of the 2000's.
