Zombies have evolved significantly since the first film White Zombie by Victor Halperin (1932). For a long time, they have been represented as simple puppets, until 1968 with George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead who transforms them into terrible cannibal creatures. Since then, zombies have inspired many famous directors: Lucio Fulci with Zombi 2 (1979), Dan O'Bannon with The Return of the Living Dead (1985), and more recently Danny Boyle with 28 Jours plus tard (2002) and Zack Snyder with Dawn of the Dead (2004).
